The Meeting Equity Podcast by Barco ClickShare — What Is Meeting Equity and Why Should We Design for It? Get Four Views From Industry Experts

The Meeting Equity Podcast Episode 1

Barco ClickShare is sponsoring a new series of podcasts — “The Meeting Equity Podcast.”

In episode 1 of this 12-part series, Gary Kayye speaks with Mark Peterson from Shen Milsom & Wilke, Martin Bodley from Bose, Olivier Croly from Barco and Mehryn Corrigan from Microsoft to discuss what meeting equity means to them and how they achieve it in room design. They address several questions, including: What is their opinion on meeting equity? What exactly is meeting equity? What is the significance of creating equity? Also, how do you build equity?

According to Croly, hybrid meetings could struggle to capture body language and emotions between those who are attending in person and those we are working remotely. As more people work hybrid remote jobs, the industry is attempting to solve this issue.

“We are all communicating and trying to share ideas and thoughts in order to be efficient in different environments,” Bodley says. He continues, addressing the idea that hybrid meeting platforms need to allow for people with different ideas to meet and congregate efficiently.

Check out this episode to see how the experts weigh in on the value of meeting equity to ensure that everyone can be seen and heard in a group setting. Gary Kayye, along with the panelists, also talk about how the COVID-19 pandemic shaped (and coined) this term, how it has changed, and how meeting equity could continue to change in the post-pandemic business world. These experts discuss the challenges that businesses, clients and colleagues face as we strike a balance between virtual and in-person meetings.
