BenQ debuted a new lamp-free, filter-free LW600ST short-throw WXGA projector with something the company is calling 4LED technology. Spec’d at 2,800-ANSI lumens covering 95% Rec. 709 color coverage and a high 20,000:1 contrast ratio the LW600ST is aimed at education, medical and the esports markets.

The LW600ST is marketed as a sustainable alternative to lamp-based projectors. First, it offers a lamp-free LED light source, eliminating toxic mercury-based lamps. Second, the light source draws 15% less power than traditional lamps. Third, it boasts a 20,000-hour lifetime that can be boosted to 30,000 hours in Eco Mode, helping to further ROI and improve electronic waste management. Finally, the chassis is made of post-consumer recycled materials.

Projector filters are frustrating, so the LW600ST eliminates them. Like many of the projectors in BenQ’s family, the LW600ST features a filter-free, dust-proof design, projection without worrying about regular cleaning or filter replacement. The result is a long-lasting projector that lowers costs due to replacement parts and labor, allowing organizations to achieve a much greater ROI.

The LW600ST boasts easy setup for big pictures in small spaces. It features a 0.72 short throw ratio and a 1.2x zoom, which allows installers to replace outdated lamp-based projectors without repositioning existing ceiling mounts. The LW600ST projects a 180″ image from less than 9 feet, which prevents people or objects from getting in the way and casting a shadow on the screen.
